Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust (NSFT) is looking for 8 new Governors, with an interest in mental wellbeing, to represent the views of local people and help shape its future.
The seats open for election are:
- 3 Public Governors in Norfolk
- 3 Public Governors in Suffolk
- 1 Service User Governor in Norfolk
- 1 Staff Governor.
The successful candidates will be part of the Council, which is responsible for a number of important duties, such as holding the Non-executive Directors to account for the performance of the Board and representing the interests of the membership of the Trust and the community it serves.
The Governors meet 6 times a year and hold special themed events. They also attend governor sub-groups and forums, as well as local and regional events, speaking to the people they represent and the wider public.
“Our Governors play a vital role at NSFT by representing the views of local people, hosting important public engagement events and appointing our Non-executive Directors. Elected Governors come from all walks of life and share an interest in mental wellbeing and a desire to help NSFT develop and thrive.”
Jean Clark, Company Secretary
“We would encourage anyone who thinks they have the time, skills and commitment to carry out this important role to come along to one of our information sessions and find out more.”
