Autism Bedfordshire are running ‘Hear Me, See Me’ workshops online for people in the East of England.
Inequalities and rights accessing healthcare – an online workshop for parents/carers
A workshop for carers or parents of autistic adults in the East of England understanding inequalities when accessing health care services.
About this event
Attendees will discuss:
- How inequalities impact autistic individuals
- What reasonable adjustments are
- What support is available
- What to do if you are unhappy with how you are able to access health care services
“It took us 20 years to get Myles the support that should have been signposted from the off. Myles has a rare form of arthritis which took a long time to get treatment for as people were doubting how much pain he was in because he was not emotionally showing pain – he’s autistic so facial cues are different. It was hard, all of this because people didn’t understand autism.”
Date: Wednesday, 25 August 2021
Time: 7:00pm – 9:00pm
The event will take place on Zoom – if you have any questions email rebecca.ellis@autismbeds.org
