Opportunity to be part of a trial of a new game “Staging Posts on the Journey of Life”

A message from Gail Cardy, Transformation Project Manager – Mental Health, West Suffolk, Ipswich & East and North East Essex Clinical Commissioning (ICS).

“I am writing to invite you to take part in a trial run of a small group activity/board game which has been created in Suffolk.

It is called “Staging Posts on the Journey of Life” and it encourages conversation between people as they reflect on their life’s experiences.

With the support of the Suffolk and North East Essex Dementia Alliance we are offering a limited number of free copies of the game to residential homes, day-centres, clubs and libraries in Suffolk and North East Essex on the understanding that we are given feedback on how the game was received.  We are particularly interested to know how people with dementia respond to the game, and also, whether it enables better interaction between elderly people and their families and carers.

We plan to distribute the games in early December and to collect feedback by the beginning of March, if you are interested in being part of this pilot please send your interest to gail.cardy@westsuffolkccg.nhs.uk

We look forward to hearing from you and your support to trial and develop the game further.”

The NHS has recently launched the 'Help Us, Help You' campaign. The campaign encourages people to contact their GP if they are worried about a symptom that could be cancer. Find out more: NHS.uk/cancersymptoms ...
