The programme is designed for young people to improve their confidence, learn new skills and develop resilience. This programme will run over 6 weeks, starting the week commencing the 25th of July and is aimed at 16-25 year olds.
The programme is designed for young people to improve their confidence, learn new skills and develop resilience. As the programme goes on, the aim is for the young people to feel more confident to get out of the house and eventually take part in face-to-face interaction if they feel ready to do so. The programme will be supported by a BACP Counsellor and Psychotherapist who will run wellbeing workshops aimed to develop personalised coping strategies and support young people to manage their own wellbeing and mental health.
The programme will take place online using Google Classroom and Microsoft Teams. Young people will attend three days a week, Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
The programme will run 10am-3pm on the three days, however the programme is aimed to have a balance of virtual learning alongside the young people taking time to do their own research and work away from the laptop. The day will be broken up by regular breaks and a one hour lunch break, to ensure young people are able to engage effectively.
Young people on the programme will achieve an Entry 3 or Level 1 Award in Employment, Teamwork and Community Skills – the programme will focus heavily on personal development and creating positive social action within their local community.
