Read more about the project

This project is a collaboration between West Suffolk Hospital Clinical Research Practitioners, Thinklusive and ACE Anglia, an advocacy organisation for adults with learning disability or/and with autism. The project connected Clinical Research Practitioners as local researchers with adults with learning disability or/and autism to produce accessible information about health research.

The project:

  • Connected West Suffolk Hospital Clinical Research Practitioners with a learning disability and autism community group called People Talking in Bury St Edmunds
  • Co-produced a short film to introduce research as an activity which includes adults with learning disability or/and autism.
  • Was presented at a National Institute for Health Research conference in London in early March 2020.

The project coincides with network ambition for better inclusion of people with learning disabilities and hopes to be the springboard to future projects to ensure people with a learning disability, autism or communication need have access to information about clinical trials and health research.
