Stowmarket station to go step-free

The Access for All Scheme helps train stations be more accessible. Lots of money was made available from the Government to improve facilities at stations across the country. Stowmarket was successful in its bid to build a new bridge and lifts.

“It’s wonderful that it is happening. Hopefully other stations will go through the bids in years to come.” Mark Conquer

“We were very pleased to hear that the scheme for a new bridge and lifts for Stowmarket was successful. This scheme will provide much needed step free access between platforms which, as an interchange station, will create much better journey opportunities for anyone unable to use the existing stepped bridge.” Greater Anglia
