Support Worker & PA Network planning event

On Thursday 3rd August the Learning Disability Partnership hosted a planning session for the Support Worker & PA Network.

The network was of the original priorities of the Learning Disability Strategy. Support Workers are integral to the implementing the vision of the Strategy, and there needs to be a space to hear their voice.

We had representatives from organisations working across Suffolk attend the planning meeting, discussing:

  • How the network could function (who, when, where)
  • The support needed to resource the network
  • The Suffolk Learning Disability Partnership website (and what support workers would like to see on the website)

Delegates also made pledges on ‘How they would support someone to live the Strategy vision’

Overall it was a really positive meeting, with lots of enthusiasm to develop a network.

Next steps

We will now look at the materials from the meeting and will write up into a report over the next few weeks. The report will be shared and discussed at the next Learning Disability Partnership Board meeting in September & will then be sent to the wider Learning Disability Partnership.

Thank you to all who attended.
