The Suffolk Law Centre, in partnership with Ace Anglia and funded by National Lotteries Reaching Communities are pleased to offer a great 2-hour workshop training opportunity.
The training is co-developed, co-written by specialist discrimination lawyers and a group of autistic people and/or with a learning disability.
The workshop is co-presented by a specialist Discrimination Legal Adviser from Suffolk Law Centre plus one or two specially trained Peer Educators, who themselves are autistic or with a learning disability.
It is undertaken using easy-read materials and drawing from real life experiences of discrimination.
The training is free. We also have a modest budget for the cost of refreshments, or any other costs needed to put on the training.
The training programme will begin in August 2021 for one year. Depending upon your organisation’s preference, we can deliver this training virtually over zoom or face to face.
It would ideally suit 6 -10 participants as it can be quite interactive.
This training will help individuals with disabilities, and their supporters to gain understanding of their rights not to be unlawfully discriminated against or harassed. They will have more confidence to speak up and challenge or get help to do so.
“Please let us know if you would be interested to take this opportunity of working with us. We can offer this in Suffolk, North Essex, and South Norfolk face to face (or further away if virtual).”
