Waveney Access to Hope & Pride (W.A.H.P), is a social and support group for LGBTQIA+ adults living with mental ill health.
LGBTQIA+ stands for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, and asexual.
Waveney Access to Hope & Pride group meets on Zoom every Thursday evening between 7.30pm to 9.30pm.
The group not only offers a safe, non-judgemental place to connect and build relationships it also provides a platform to ensure the voice of the LGBTQIA+ community is heard, and fed into the wider system conversation.
This month the group have explored social care, and the rehabilitation from residential mental health settings back into the community and we have been able to feed their insights into the rehabilitation workstream for the community transformation programme.
Some great friendships are forming, and the small but supportive group are keen to invite new members.
